Florida freeze killed 1 Iguana and 1 anole lizard

We've had record cold temperatures here in South Florida for a week now. It's proving too much for our cold blooded friends who live in the trees in our yard. Yesterday we picked up a beautiful Anole (huge!) from our pool, he apparently fell from the tree above the pool into the water, most likely after he froze. Today we find this little guy at the back of the yard. He's a young Iguana. Jake and Zoe were very curious and excited and loved sniffing, and pawing and barking at him. We moved him out to the trash, if we try to bury him I'm sure the dogs will dig him up and that would be unpleasant. RIP little Iguana.

apparantly, it may come back to life!

Yikes! We just put him in a sunny spot on the south side of our property .. maybe he'll live! Thanks for the info.
Update on the Iguana ... we placed him in a safe, warm place outside. It was a beautiful day today, in the 60s, sunny blue skies. Well ... he did not come to life. We're keeping him there just to see what happens but we think he would have recovered by now if he's truly not dead. Anyway we're trying to "save the frozen lizard".
Zoe is back to hunting lizards (the small ones) in the back yard. Come to think of it, there may be very few of them now.
