Border Joy!

Hi Michele, Harvey & Dexter are from a two Dad family. My partner Steve and I have been together 11 yrs. I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in late 2003. I had surgery followed by chemo. I had always wanted two borders but naturally assumed this would be when I retired, however, as they say, cancer changes your outlook and for me that was the excuse I needed to get the puppies! Steve wasn't as keen as me but they were wonderful to have around for my recovery. Sadly, last December I was told the cancer has returned. I had my whole colon removed on 27th January this year. I am making slow but steady recovery but once again it has been so lovely to have the dogs at home with me.

They take my mind off my pain. Luckily this cancer was much earlier so no chemo this time. I am an Optometrist by profession so have a fairly light job, certainly no heavy lifting for me for next 6 months. I'm due back at work beginning of May but am not looking forward to it, have got so used to being with the dogs full time and now wanna be a stay at home Dad for them LOL...

Beautiful Borders, and I'm so glad you have them to see you through your battle. Nothing like a stoic loving joyful Border keeping you company to to make you feel better, and to have two? twice the goodness!!! you were smart to get 'em! Good luck as you go.....
