Jake finds a wild pig!

We were on a walk - hike along the Sebastian River the other day. We deviated from our normal path and did some expoloring into the woods. It's thick and the dogs ran ahead and we could not see them some of the time because they would run into some brush and out of view. Suddenly we hear a pig SKREECH!

Then we hear Jake barking, Zoe was with us and she for some reason stayed with us through this whole ordeal. We freaked! We know wild pigs live here because we see their rooting marks all over the ground .. all the time. Never thought we (or Jake) would find one. Anyway now we can't see him or the pig/pigs and we just hear skreeching and barking and the sound of brush moving.

These pigs can be any size, up to really BIG and they're mean! We were screaming "Jake, Jake!" and after what seemed to be a long time Jake appreared from the brush intact. We were so relieved. Jake was SO happy! He really loves hunting, make no mistake about it Border Terriers are hunters. Jake has sadly killed many rabbits in our fenced yard, and if you can believe this about 2 days before we had the pig incounter he actually caught and killed a squirrel. I just never thought he would ever be able to catch one.

It was not mauled or eaten by him, just some blood on it's neck and blood on Jakes mouth and that was it. Mike burried the poor little guy. It feels so horrible when they do this but I understand this is their natural state and we must accept that.

Very Scary, thank goodness he didn't take on the pig. Magoo is a natural hunter, will just quietly deal to and despatch. Bodie is just a sound system.
