Turtle Hunt

Jake and Zoe found 3 more turtles in the yard today. It's funny, they have different barks for different finds. They have a very definate Squirrel bark and believe me we hear that all the time. Today I was inside and I could hear the "Turtle" bark, really! I ran out and sure enough, they each had a baby box turtles in their mouth, and there was one on the ground. Jake was digging and barking and mouthing one and Zoe was excitedly chewing on another. They were all closed up in their shell so no turtles were harmed here. I managed to get them from the pups and I dropped them over the fence and went on my way.
Then, about 10 minutes later, I heard the Turtle Bark again! Pesky turtles are determined to be eaten by a Border Terrier. I took these photos as they stuck their noses and paws through the fence trying furriously to reach the turtle that apparently crawled back toward the fence! The pictures don't convey the INTENSITY of Jake and Zoe in all this.

We can hear the intensity from here. We get the same high drama from hedgehogs on the other side of the fence that determinedly try to get through to our side.
