Virginia Veterinarian's Border Tale!

Border Joy!
Where does one start, telling the story of a Border in a life......I'm a horse veterinarian, and while in Virginia I met the breed as my employer had one. I got in line to get my own "truck dog", and was lucky enough to come across a male pup available from Ian Milne, then the huntsman for the Fairfax Hunt.
Named the pup after my grandmom's last name, as that was the only Scottish name that came to mind, but he came running when I called him Doyle. He served as navigator, companion, and Officer In Charge of Moral Support for almost 11 years. I lost him to cancer in June, and contacted Brenda Milne (we lost Ian in the year 2000) to get in line for another descendant from the same lines. A litter of all females was born 11/28, and now I anxiously await the day when I bring home a new little girl Border. Name is pending. Ideas? I've attached some shots of Doyle on the job, and of the new litter - if they don't make you say "awwwww" you don't have a pulse.
Thank you - Border Joy - for doing what you do - I love to check in and enjoy your posts as I wait for my new friend and cohort. Use whatever photos you see fit, and I'm happy to share more about a Border on the job - many fun stories with horses, dogs, and their people.
Thanks again, "Doc" Amy Worrell

Thanks "Doc" Amy, great post ... we look forward to all your news and stories to come!!
Amy: Those are the cutest photos ever! I love the one of Doyle howling on the howling boy. Doyle is so anxious to please. - the large branch he brought over. Nice nice photos. Warm thoughts, Paul of State College Pa.
Puppy pictures make me want another one. They also give me the warm fuzzies.
Boy howling is not my son but a client's son. Doyle had many fans, including this boy and his sister. I have a whole album of people howling with the dog - he brought out the best in them!

Oh Master Doyle!! He always WAS in charge of morale! What a great big heart. He and Ruger are busy chasing chippers I'm sure ... what a contagiously happy little guy! (And what a voice!!)
Talk about Border Joy!! What a joyful sound is a Border singing. That is truly a blessing! Now you will enjoy the other Border blessing - puppy kisses! Enjoy!
